POTSDAM -- The North Country Regional Economic Development Council holds its first public meeting starting at 1:30 p.m. in SUNY Potsdam's Barrington Student Union Multi-Purpose Room.
Lt. Gov. Robert Duffy will be on hand, according to college officials.
North Country people, businesses, organizations, and university representatives are welcome at the open meeting portion, which begins at 1:30 p.m.
The North Country Regional Economic Development Council is one of several regional councils that will be competing for $200 million in state development funding.
The North Country council comprises St. Lawrence, Franklin, Jefferson, Clinton, Lewis, Hamilton and Essex counties.
