Nearly 50 homes still without power in St. Lawrence County following storm on Tuesday

Tuesdays night’s thunderstorm which brought high winds and pelting rain and has left nearly 50 St. Lawrence County National Grid customers still without power as of Thursday morning, according to National Grid officials.

The storm reportedly knocked power out to 3,646 homes overnight with power being restored to most homes in the county, representatives said.

Potsdam reportedly has 28 homes without power, 15 in Canton and less than five residences are affected in Parishville, Pierrepont and Stockholm.

Power is expected to be restore by 6 p.m. today in all areas except for Canton where power is expected to be back around 8 p.m. tonight, officials said.

Prior to the storm, the National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning and predicted winds of up to 75 miles per hour.

After the storm trees and limbs were reported down in numerous areas throughout St. Lawrence County.
