LISBON -- A motorcycle accident involving a motorcycle and SUV on June 29 sent a 10-year old to Upstate Medical in Syracuse for serious, but non-life threatening injuries, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies.
Deputies said they responded to an accident at the intersection of County routes 27 and 30 around 6 p.m.
Following an investigation officers determined that the motorcycle operator, Jordon R. Joanette, 24, Madrid, failed to yield right of way at a stop sign and struck a 2013 Dodge Journey being driven by Chelsea M. Hackett, 24, Ogdensburg.
Hackett was uninjured.
Joanette suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
A 10-year old passenger on the motorcycle was transported by ambulance to Ogdensburg hospital and then airlifted to Upstate Medical in Syracuse for non-life threatening injuries, deputies said.
Joanette was operating on a suspended license and had no motorcycle endorsement, officers said.
Joanette was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating out of class and failure to yield right of way at a stop sign.
The subject was issued appearance tickets returnable to court at a later date.
Deputies were assisted on scene by Lisbon Rescue and Fire, Madrid Rescue and Potsdam Rescue.
