We can expect some more snow today and tonight in the North Country, and it will be getting much colder next week, according to the current National Weather Service forecast.

Light snow is spreading into northern New York this morning, with light accumulations before heavier, steadier snowfall arrives this afternoon and tonight. Total accumulations are expected to be two to four inches by late tonight, the NWS predicts.

A chance of light snow will persist right through New Year’s Day and it will remain cold, and will get colder. After daytime temperatures reach the 20s to near 30 Monday, the dropoff in readings will climax with a predicted overnight low of minus 14 Thursday night in the valley, and colder in the higher elevations..
