More cloudy, wintery conditions for St. Lawrence County over the next few days

POTSDAM — St. Lawrence County residents will see cloudy skies and a wintery mix of cold and possibly snow over the weekend following the stormy conditions Friday.

There will be a slight chance of rain showers this afternoon with highs in the upper 30s, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight there will be a 50 percent chance of snow showers with lows in the mid 20s.

Sunday will see more of the same with cloudy skies and 50 percent chance of snow and lows in the 30s. Temperatures will drop back to the lower 20s over night.

Partly sunny skies are predicted for Monday with highs in the upper 30s during the day. Conditions are expected to turn cloudy that night.

Tuesday will see higher temperatures around 40 with some sun. A chance of snow or rain are predicted later that night, with a chance of precipitation around 60 percent.

Rain and snow are likely Wednesday during the day and night with highs of 40 expected during the and lows in the upper 20s.

Thursday and Friday will both be mostly cloudy once more with a chance of rain or snow with temperatures in the mid 30s.

While the nor’easter which hit New England and New York yesterday largely missed St. Lawrence County, about 363,000 people statewide were left without power, according to a press release from the governor’s office. While weather conditions persist, the state has instituted a tractor trailer ban on bridges and a tandem trailer ban on all highways, said the press release.
