AKWESASNE – With a steady rain developing late Thursday and into the early hours of Friday morning, and lasting throughout the day, and a forecast calling for more rain Friday night, Mohawk International Raceway track officials postponed Friday’s racing events and will race on Memorial Day Monday at 7 p.m.

All scheduled events that were to run on Friday will be on Monday's card, including the make up features from the May 20 rainout for the Frenchie's Built Ford Tough Sportsman, Bailey Motor Company Pro Stocks and CKON 97.3FM Bandits. Highlighting the night's program will be the first race in the Frenchie's Chevrolet American Revolution Series for the 358 Modifieds.

The night will be sponsored by Frenchie's Chevrolet, and in addition to the already increased purse for the 358 Modified feature, Frenchie's will be offering a $1,000 bonus to the 358 Modified race winner, a $650 bonus to the Sportsman feature winner, a $250 bonus to the Pro Stock winner and a $100 bonus to the feature winner in the Bandit division.

Gates will open at 4 p.m. Monday Afternoon, with hot laps scheduled to get underway at 6:30. Note the special starting time for Monday is 7 p.m., and not the usual 7:45 start on Friday nights.

Racing will continue the following Friday night, June 3, as THE FOX 101.5FM with Harley Davidson presents a full show plus the first race in the CKON 97.3FM Bandit Series.

The second of the twin 20 lap 358 Modified feature held over from May 20 will also be on the schedule.

Mohawk International Raceway is located in Akwesasne, midway between the Seaway International Bridge to Cornwall, Ont., and the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino.

From Route 37, turn south onto Frogtown Road.

Racing is held on Friday nights at 7:45 p.m. from May through September, featuring the Frenchie's Chevrolet DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, Sportsman and Pro Stocks, as well as the Bandit division.
