MASSENA -- A Watertown man missing since Wednesday may be in the Massena area, according to state police.

Police are continuing to ask the public’s assistance in locating Charles B. Ball, 71, who did not return to his home, contrary to his normal routine, last Wednesday.

Police said information provided to them indicates Ball’s red 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck may have been seen in the Village of Massena on Sept. 15 between noon and 2 p.m. and again in the early hours of Sept. 16. The vanity license plate on the truck says “CB Ball.”

The truck has a standard cab, step-side box with a hard cover tonneau cover, police said.

Ball was last seen Sept. 15 between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. at a house under construction on Pleasant Lake in the Town of Champion in Jefferson County, where he met a family friend and the home’s contractor, police said.

Ball left that location and was expected to return to his home under construction on the Maltby Road in the Town or Rutland. Police said there is nothing to suggest Ball arrived at that location and no one has had further contact with him.

Police are asking anyone who has had contact with Ball or has observed his vehicle contact state police in Watertown at 782-2112 or any nearby state police barracks.
