CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Environmental Management Council (EMC) has several vacancies.
The county is looking for persons who are interested in sound, long-term planning and who have a concern for environmental issues facing the region.
The Environmental Management Council (EMC) consists of 16 members, including an ex officio member from the Board of Legislators.
The EMC advises the Board of Legislators on matters that affect the environment of the county, and serves as a forum for investigating environmental problems and seeking solutions.
Meetings are held monthly on the third Wednesday in the evening, with committee meetings scheduled in-between.

Members of the EMC are appointed by the Board of Legislators for a 2-year term.
