MASSENA -- Village police say they charged a Massena woman with a felony on Monday for allegedly causing several thousand dollars worth of damage to a door at a local bar.

Angela M. Mercado, 31, of 90 East Hatfield Street is charged with second-degree criminal mischief.

Court documents state that on Sept. 8 around 2 a.m., she kicked the door at Softails Saloon, 273 East Orvis Street and cracked the glass, causing $3,917 worth of damage.

Bar staff told police they had cleared the bar out and Mercado demanded re-entry to look for her boyfriend and became enraged when she wasn’t allowed back in.

Mercado was charged at 7:55 p.m. Monday at the village police station.
