MASSENA -- The Massena Village board may consider limiting the number of dogs one can own.
At Tuesday’s village board meeting, Joe George said he has a neighbor who owns 11 dogs and said it’s a problem for him.
“I’m not going to complain once per week. It would be redundant,” George said.
He didn’t go into detail, but asked the board if they put a cap on dogs, since they restrict things like the number of vehicles one can have on a property.
“We can look into it and see if there’s a resolution we can come up with,” Trustee Patricia Wilson said. “There are no doubt communities that have such ordinances.”
Police Chief Tim Currier told the board that there is nothing on the books restricting the number of canines one can own. He said there is only a ban on kenneling.
