MASSENA -- State police in Massena said the photo they circulated on Thursday was not the woman they were looking for in the case of a stolen credit card.
The photo they distributed, which appeared on NorthCountryNow.com, showed a woman at an ATM at the Western Door convenience store in Hogansburg. Troopers believed that the woman in the photo was using a stolen credit card at the ATM.
But investigators said Friday that was not the woman who made the transaction that got their attention.
They said that time stamps on security videos can sometimes be off, and that caused some confusion.
They said the woman in the photo was not upset by her photo being circulated in an investigation, but that “she was cool with it.”
