MASSENA -- The Town Council will hold a special meeting at 2 p.m. today, Monday, Jan. 21 to discuss a contract issue with Massena Memorial Hospital.
Town Supervisor Steve O'Shaughnessy said he expects to move immediately to executive session.
"I apologize for the short notice a contractual issue has come up relating to the Town and hospital, so the Town Board will have to meet today at 2:00 pm at the Town Hall, Room #1. We expect to move into executive session and I am unsure if any action will result," he wrote in an emailed announcement sent out less than five hours before the start of the meeting. "The Town Hall is normally closed on [Martin Luther King Jr.] day, but will be open before the meeting starts."
Earlier on Monday, O'Shaughnessy announced that the town and MMH boards would meet at 3 p.m. at the hospital prior to the start of the 4 p.m. MMH board meeting.
