MASSENA -- A Massena teen is jailed after troopers say he fled a traffic stop and reached speeds up to 80 mph in the village.
Zachery M. Donnelly, 19, is charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and “multiple vehicle and traffic violations,” troopers said.
On July 20 around 4:38 p.m., troopers say they stopped a Subaru Legacy on state Route 56 for failing to keep right.
The driver, who officers say was Donnelly, fled the stop in his vehicle after his initial encounter with the trooper. He led troopers in a pursuit through the village of Massena, traveling at a speed of approximately 80 mph in a posted 30 mph zone. Donnelly ended the pursuit by pulling into the driveway at 115 East Orvis St., where he was taken into custody, troopers said.
Donnelly was arraigned in Massena Village Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.
