MASSENA -- The Board of Education on Thursday approved two appointments, several substitutes and leaves of absence.
The board hired teacher aide Gabrielle Miller at Jefferson Elementary, effective Jan. 7 at an $18,531 salary. The board also hired high school science teacher Michelle Primiano, effective Jan. 28, 2019 to Jan. 27, 2023 at a $40,575 salary.
Substitutes approved included long-term teacher sub Richard Marshall, effective Jan. 7 to 30, $231.40 per day; teacher/teaching assistant subs Carter Brown and Kelsy Gladding (effective Jan. 7) and Calli Ellis (effective Jan. 8) all at $90 or $85 per day; and support staff sub Rebecca Blair, effective Jan. 9, $11.25 per hour.
The board granted leaves of absence to high school teacher aide Jenna Fregoe (effective Feb. 25, 2019 to April 28, 2020); Jefferson Elementary teacher Cassondra Barney (Jan. 7 to April 5, date adjustment), Nightengale Elementary cleaner Paul Ford, effective Dec. 12, 2018 to Jan. 21, 2019; high school food service helper Tammy Ashley, effective Dec. 13, 2018 to Jan. 23, 2019; bus monitor/food service helper BobbiJo Wright, effective Dec. 22, 2018 to Jan. 30, 2019; bus monitor/food service helper Kim Berry, effective Jan. 18 to a to-be-determined date; and Jefferson Elementary custodial worker, effective Nov. 18, 2018 to Nov. 18, 2019 intermittent.
