MASSENA -- A Massena man was jailed Tuesday after allegedly brandishing a knife and demanding drugs and money from a 19-year-old Massena resident late Monday night, according to state police.

Joseph D. Mitchell, 20, was charged with third-degree robbery and second-degree aggravated harassment.

Mitchell pulled a knife and demanded a small amount of marijuana and cash before making threats, police said.

The alleged victim gave Mitchell a small amount of pot and drove away, troopers said.

Mitchell was arraigned in Waddington Town Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond.

He is to appear in Louisville Town Court Dec. 11 at 3 p.m.
