MASSENA -- The Massena Pro Hockey LLC recently became the second team to join the North Atlantic Professional Hockey League.
“We are enthusiastic about the new league and we look forward to working with them,” said Mayor James F. Hidy.
The team will play their home games at the Massena Arena, Harte Haven Plaza.
The ownership group has narrowed the search for a head coach and general manager down to three candidates, according to a press release posted on the NAPHL website.
“This is great for Massena and we are going to support the team as much as possible,” said Hidy.
The team has plans for a news conference in June to announce the coaching staff and front office personnel.
During the press conference, the team will also formally announce its team name and mascot.
The team expects to have a website up and running by the end of May.
More hockey teams are expected to be announced soon. Teams will be from the United States and possibly Canada.
