MASSENA – A motor-scooter operator has been airlifted to a Syracuse hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on South Main Street.
The crash occurred at 5:49 p.m., according to village Police Chief Timmy J. Currier.
Police said Wanda J. Harvey, 45, of Amherst Road, was operating a motorized scooter and attempted to cross South Main Street in an easterly direction toward the intersection of Leach Street.
She crossed into the pathway of a motor vehicle operated by Amanda J. Bouyea, 23, of Trippany Road, police said.
Harvey was transported by the Massena Volunteer Rescue Squad to meet with a helicopter and be airlifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, police said.
Village police were assisted at the scene by Massena Volunteer Rescue Squad and Massena Volunteer Fire Department.
The investigation is continuing
