MASSENA -- Dr. Surinder Pal is now practicing as a hospitalist at Massena Memorial Hospital.
He specializes in caring for hospitalized patients.
Pal is one of five hospitalists working at MMH. The others are doctors Marie Jean-Jacques, Alex Osei-Bonsu and Joyce Yang and Physician Assistant Guerlande Louis.
“The hospitalist program will help the hospital be more responsive to the immediate needs of hospital patients by being more available,” said MMH Chief of Medicine John Burnett. “Hospitalists devote 100 percent of their time to carrying for patients in the hospital and don't have to divide their time or attention between hospital patients and office patients.”
Before Pal joined MMH, he worked as a hospitalist at the Denver Veterans Administration Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. He began that job in June 2014. He also spent time working at the Hot Springs, Ark. at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was board-certified in internal medicine in 2002 and was recertified in November. From 1992 to 1995, Pal completed his internal medicine residency at the Mount Sinai Medical School/Bronx Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bronx. He completed his medical education at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India in 1976.
