MASSENA -- Massena Memorial Hospital has officially added Dr. Ammar Kafa to the MMH Medical Practice Group in the Maple Street office building.
Kafa is certified by the American Academy of Family Practitioners and may see up to 25 patients a day, according to a statement from MMH.
“I have been practicing Family Medicine in USA for ten years and I enjoy and love taking care of patients,” Kafa says in the release. “Before joining MMH, I was in Wisconsin and Indiana. Medicine was always my goal and to become a physician was always my dream since I was in elementary school.”
He takes new patients and referrals. He specializes in uncontrolled hypertension and diabetes, as well as depression and bipolar disorder.
Kafa completed a family medicine residency program at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, New York City, in 2005, where he was the chief resident.
He earned his doctor of medicine from Damascus University Medical School, Damascus, Syria.
