MASSENA -- Excellus BlueCross BlueShield has named Massena Memorial Hospital a Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care, according to MMH.

“Hospitals recognized for these designations were assessed using a combination of publicly available quality information and cost measures derived from BCBS companies’ medical claims,” according to MMH.

Since 2006, Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) companies across the nation have recognized more than 650 hospitals as Blue Distinction Centers, MMH said.

The team at MMH’s Tender Touches Birthing Center are Cynthia Benedict, Cara Bono, Jessica Braman, Diane Cline, Erin Cougler, Emily Frank, Tara Gallant, Snow Harper-Moulton, Brooke Hollister, Tammy Kirkey, Pam Marin, Diane Mitchell, Kaitlin Premo, Bethann Rice, Rita Saumier, Susan Smith, Tammy Sue Mitchell, Barbara Hillis and Dr. Emmanuel Nwogu.
