MASSENA – A Massena man died Monday from injuries sustained during a snowmobile accident Jan. 24.
Kenneth R. Maneeley was operating a 2011 Polaris snowmobile heading eastbound on the seasonal Thatcherville Road in the Town of Franklin when he lost control of his sled and veered off the groomed portion of the road, according to state police.
The snowmobile stopped abruptly, ejecting Maneeley, who then struck an embankment, troopers said.
Maneely was transported to Champlain Valley Physician’s Hospital in Plattsburgh and later moved to University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, officers said.
He was listed in critical condition with spine and head injuries until the time of his death.
