MASSENA -- Village police say a Massena man is charged with felony animal cruelty after allegedly strangling a kitten during a domestic violence incident.
Daniel A. Makuch, 31, of 56 Sycamore St. is charged with aggravated animal cruelty, a felony, and child endangerment, a misdemeanor, police said.
Police said he strangled the kitten during a fight with his girlfriend and the animal was so badly injured it had to be euthanized.
This happened in front of two children, ages 4 and 1, police allege.
Makuch was charged Friday night at his residence at 8:31 p.m. and released with appearance tickets, police said.
