MASSENA -- A village resident jailed on a felony count after allegedly stealing a trampoline from Walmart while being barred from the premises.
Jon L. Larue, 25, of East Orvis Street, Massena is charged with third-degree burglary, felony, and petit larceny, misdemeanor.
Police said they picked him up at 11:25 p.m. Saturday at his residence.
He allegedly took a 14-foot trampoline from the store valued at $209, according to documents filed with Massena Village Court.
He has been under a “notification of restriction from property” barring him from the store since Sept. 15, 2015, which resulted in the burglary charge, the documents said.
Larue was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald Sharlow and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, in lieu of $1,500 bail or $3,000 bond, police said.
He was then turned over to state police, taken to Stockholm Town Court and arraigned on a bench warrant for failure to pay a fine and jailed on $250 bail, police said.
