MASSENA -- The village board’s street committee is looking at making a partial or total ban of parking on Cedar Street.
There is concern among board members that cars clogging the entire length of the street cause a traffic hazard at the intersection. It mainly occurs during softball games in the summer.
Village Police Lt. Mark LaBrake said he recently checked out the situation and even with cars parked a legal distance from the intersection, it’s still hard to see what’s coming.
There is a ban on parking on one side of Cedar Street between Woodlawn and Park avenues.
The issue was mentioned briefly at the July and August board meetings, but they haven’t yet proposed specific regulations.
