MASSENA -- The village board has agreed by a 3-0 vote to buy a new garbage truck for $167,949.
The cab and chassis, built by Stadium International Truck, costs $86,655.
The packer body carries an $81,294 price tag and is made by Joe Johnson Equipment, USA, Inc.
The board also voted to sell 14 old, defunct vehicles for scrap.
Public Works Superintendent Hassan Fayad said they are taking up space behind the village garage. They include a 1973 town truck and an old police cruiser, he said.
