MASSENA -- The Massena Central School District will benefit from a $9,000 state grant that came from Sen. Patty Ritchie.
The Link Crew program, in which seniors help freshmen adjust to high school life, will get $5,000. That will cover materials and supplies for various activities, t-shirts and training for a new staff member.
The music department will get the remaining $4,000. It will fund new uniforms and poles for the flag squad. The color guard will get new uniforms and new U.S. and New York flags, as well as a Massena banner.
Ritchie, R-Heuvelton, represents the 48th Senate District, which does not include Massena, but includes Louisville, which is in the Massena Central School District. The town of Massena is in the 47th Senate District, which is represented by Joe Griffo, R-Rome.
