MASSENA -- The village now has a list of properties in the so-called "downtown core" that will be used for marketing and to aid potential buyers.
The list was compiled by students in the Massena High School business classes taught by Darci Johnson and Kara Warren.
Dallas Benedict, one of four students who compiled the list, said they worked with the village engineer to compile the registry containing "crucial information a potential buyer may need" and a photo of each property on West Orvis, Andrews, Main, Phillips and Water streets.
He said their research included online resources and meeting with village officials.
"Throughout the course of the project we faced roadblocks," he said, adding that some of the information was only available by tracking down and speaking with individual parcel owners.
"It wasn't a difficult project. It was very time consuming. We had to go to each individual owner," Benedict said.
