MASSENA — A Massena man was jailed Sunday for the alleged Nov. 7 burglary of Fabulous Finds Boutique & Consignment, 535 South Main St., according to Massena Police.
Frederick J. Barse, 38, was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny and third-degree criminal mischief, all felonies, and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
Barse was located at 77 Grove St. where he tried to escape out of window and resisted arrest when police tried to take him into custody, officers said.
While police were trying to arrest Frederick Barse, his brother James Barse, 40, allegedly tried to block officers from getting into the residence.
James Barse was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.
Frederick Barse was arraigned by Village Justice Eric Gustafson and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
James Barse was released on appearance tickets returnable to Massena court Jan. 5.
Massena police were assisted by the New York State Police Forensic Investigations Unit. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
