Massena Boys and Girls Club looking to hire program director, chief professional officer

MASSENA -- The Boys and Girls Club of Massena is looking to hire a program director and chief professional officer (CPO) to lead the organization through the pre-launch phase, according to a statement from the organization released today.

"They are looking for applications from exceptional individuals with a passion for the Club’s mission: to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring responsible citizens," the statement reads.

The job is a temporary part-time position, 22 hours per week, at a maximum hourly rate of $15.

Applications are accepted through Friday, August 8. Interviews will be scheduled for selected candidates between August 18 and 29. The anticipated start date for would be September 23 in preparation for the club opening to serve area children on October 7.

“We anticipate the Club to transition from the pre-launch phase to full-time operation and full-time staff on or before September 2015; at which point, the temporary employees would reapply for specified job openings,” club president Timmy Currier said in a prepared statement.

To meet the initial needs of the pre-launch program, the search committee is looking for someone who can successfully meet the responsibilities outlined primarily under the program director some of the criteria for the chief professional officer and executive director position description. Alternatively, the search committee may recommend hiring two people to split the job duties and hours.

“This pre-launch phase is an important time in the development of the Club, as we start welcoming kids into our programs on a part-time basis,” Currier said in the statement. “While our Board and committees will continue to play active roles in the progress of the Club, the person or persons we hire will be an integral component of our success – sharing in our passion to make this Club a reality for the kids who need us to succeed.”
