MASSENA -- The Town Council voted to appoint Lisa Tyo to the town board of assessment review.
She was named after they voted to take John LePage’s resignation.
Town Supervisor Joseph Gray said his understanding is that although Tyo is a village employee, there is no conflct of interest with her serving on a town-appointed board.
“Apparently it hasn’t been viewed (by the courts) as a conflict for a public employee to sit on those boards,” Gray said.
The board doesn’t meet again until June 2015.
