State police and St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday charged men from Massena and Nicholville with felony weapons charges in two cases related to alleged domestic disputes.
Deputies said that Kenneth J. Snyder, 32, 7 Peck St., Nicholville, held a knife to his girlfriend’s throat, kneed her in the ribs several times, and threatened her with a hammer Thursday.
Snyder was sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility without bail after being arraigned before Canton Town Justice Christopher Curley on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon third degree, a felony, and misdemeanors, two counts of second-degree menacing, and third degree attempted assault.
Snyder is to be back in court next week.
State police charged Donald R. Swamp, 48, of Massena, with a felony, first-degree criminal contempt, and the misdemeanors of second-degree menacing: weapon, resisting arrest, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon: intent to use, all in connection with a domestic dispute complaint Wednesday.
His disposition was not reported.
