MASSENA -- The village is forming an arbor committee to deal with the emerald ash borer invasive species, along with other “tree issues and beautification issues,” Mayor Tim Currier.
At Tuesday’s Board of Trustees meeting, Currier said crafting a plan to fight the ash borer is “precisely why Mr. (DPW Superintendent Andy) McMahon asked me to get this going.”
The committee will include McMahon, Dale Raymo, Paul Rufa, Mark Ryan, Sharon Ryan, Barb Sanford and Rebecca Violi, according to Village Clerk Monique Chatland.
DPW Superintendent Hassan Fayad will be the committee’s liaison to the village board.
