Masons of St. Lawrence County are again selling oranges and grapefruit during their largest annual charity fundraiser.

Members of Masonic lodges in every community take orders for boxes of Naval Oranges, Florida Temples and Red Grapefruit as well as the Citrus Sampler, which includes 24 Navel Oranges and 12 Red Grapefruit.

Every Brother Mason from each of the 11 lodges is involved, answering phones and collecting funds in preparation for the truckload that will arrive in early March. On delivery day, they make deliveries to the hundreds of customers.

Orders will be taken until Feb. 18. A March 5 delivery date is expected.

The citrus is sold by the 2/5 bushel, and includes California Navels for $18, Florida Temples for $16, and Florida Grapefruit for $17, and the Citrus Sampler for $27.

St. Lawrence Masonic Charities is the central organization behind the fruit sale. Their charities include funding for equipment and supplies for the popular New York Masonic Safety ID Program and Blood Drives held free of charge in local schools and at public events throughout the county. Other charities include local food banks, storm relief centers, libraries, rescue squads, fire departments, historical associations, and much more.
