MASSENA -- Local musician James C. Phillips has released a new Christmas CD, “Christmas at Emmanuel II.”

All of the proceeds from sales of the CD will benefit Emmanuel Congregational UCC in Massena.

“We are so thankful for Mr. Phillips offering his time and talent to produce this CD,” said pastor Rev. Judith Van Kennen. “This CD is a must have for anyone who enjoys really good instrumental Christmas music,” she said.

The CD features 19 tracks including holiday favorites such as “Silent Night,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Troika (Sleigh Ride),” and “O Little Town of Bethlehem.”

The CD is a followup to the 2012 “Christmas at Emmanuel.”

The CD costs $12 and it may be purchased at the church, Season’s Gift Shop in Massena, and Kunoco in Waddington. The CD is also available for $12 plus $3 for shipping online at www.uccmassena.org or by mailing a check or money order made payable to Emmanuel Congregational UCC to 39 West Orvis St., Massena, NY 13662.

The cost of the CD duplication was donated by Tom Gramuglia, president of Hindsight Records.

Phillips is organist and choir director at Emmanuel UCC and St. John's Episcopal Church in Massena. He attended the Crane School of Music and taught music in schools for several years before moving to Los Angeles where he was under contract with Columbia Records as a recording artist. During his time on the West Coast he worked and recorded with several well-known acts and appeared on national television shows.

Since returning to the North Country in the 1990s he has continued to record music and work with other area musicians.
