LISBON -- Five generations of the Moore family recently gathered at Lisbon Wesleyan Church to mark the 10th anniversary of the Charles M. Moore Fellowship Hall.

Pastor Floyd McCallum, Jr. who arrived in June from southern California, led the church in a celebration.

Bernice Moore along with her extended family attended the morning service and joined the congregation for a potluck dinner afterwards.

The Fellowship Hall was named after Bernice Moore’s late husband, Charles M. Moore.

The Moore family and many of the congregation made the construction of the facility possible.

Many remember Bernice as she worked at the bank in Lisbon for over 20 years.

The two-story Fellowship Hall which includes five classrooms on the ground level was built in 2004 to add much needed space for the ministries of the church as well as community use.

An elevator for the handicapped was installed this summer and was also dedicated during the Sunday service.

Provisions for an elevator were included in the original plans, but it was not installed until this year.

Former pastor Doug Ingersoll, who now lives in Buffalo, was invited to speak at the celebration service.

He led Lisbon Wesleyan during the hall's construction and was instrumental in much of the church’s growth during his 10 years as pastor, the church said.

Lisbon Wesleyan Church uses the Fellowship Hall for various activities throughout each week.

It is also available to the Lisbon community for meetings, receptions, parties, etc. The hall seats approximately 150 people at tables.

Recently installed sound buffers make it great for carrying on conversations or listening to a speaker.

Those seeking to use the hall can inquire at 393-1079.
