GOUVERNEUR -- A Lisbon man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a property-damage accident on U.S. Highway 11 early Monday morning, according to state police.

A 2012 Chevrolet Cobalt, operated by 23-year-old Dillon P. Vallance of Lisbon, had been traveling south on State Route 11 when his vehicle exited the roadway and struck a guide rail.

Troopers said they charged Vallance, with first-offense DWI and moving from a lane unsafely at 3:46 a.m.

Vallance and his passenger, 20-year-old Levi G. Love of Gouverneur, were not injured.

Vallance was arrested for DWI. His blood alcohol was determined to be .12 percent, according to police.

He was released with tickets to appear in the Gouverneur Town Court on December 10, 2014, at 9 a.m.
