CANTON – A Lisbon man already in county jail for fraud charges has received an additional charge for allegedly taking $1,155 to do auto body work and never completing it, according to St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies.
Anthony J. Jock, 31, 36 Glebe Rd., Lisbon, has been charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, following a sheriff's office investigation.
Deputies report that Jock stole the money from an individual in Massena by means of false promise; he allegedly was paid the money over a 3-month period, but Jock performed no work on the vehicle.
He was issued an appearance ticket for the charge and is to appear in Massena Village Court at a later date.
He is currently being held in St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility following his arrest last week for first-degree scheming to defraud, a felony, after an investigation into reports that, during September, he defrauded at least 10 people, out of a total of nearly $2,000, according to St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies.
