A few stronger thunderstorms are possible across the St. Lawrence Valley this afternoon into this evening, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The main threats will be locally gusty winds, brief heavy rainfall, and dangerous cloud to ground lightning, forecasters say.
While storms are generally not expected to reach severe limits, stronger cores may yield wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour, NWS says. Thunderstorm activity should dissipate during the late evening hours.
The service says the high today will be near 85 with a 60 percent chance of rain, with thunderstorms expected this afternoon.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely before 11 p.m., then a chance of showers, NWS says. An overnight low of 62 is expected.
Skies will clear Thursday with temps around 83, forecasters say.
