OGDENSBURG -- St. Lawrence County law enforcement officers will carry the Special Olympics torch on Friday.
It will start at Ogdensburg City Hall at 7:30 a.m. It will travel about 36 miles down state Route 37 to the Massena Town Hall, arriving around 1 p.m. The New York State Police, Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (NYSDOCCS), St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Ogdensburg Police Department, Customs and Border Patrol, Massena Police Department and the SUNY Canton Police Department will all participate in this year’s run. It leads up to the North Country Summer games at SUNY Canton on May 3.
Special Olympics New York has more than 65,000 athletes across New York State who compete and train in Olympic-style sports throughout the year, always at no cost to them, their families or caregivers.
