HAMMOND – St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating to see if an illegal shotgun seized from an Ogdensburg man Sunday was stolen or has been used in a crime.
Joshua R. Compo, 22, 6123 St. Hwy 37, has been charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon after he was allegedly found to be in possession of a Winchester Model 1300 pump-action shotgun with the serial number cut off of the receiver. Deputies allege Compo defaced and concealed the origin of the weapon.
Compo arraigned in Hammond Town Court and sent to the county jail on $10,000 cash bail.
