MASSENA – Massena-based state police are seeking the community's help in identifying a body of a person found dead on State Route 420 Friday at 3 p.m.
Massena-based state police investigators responded to a report of a body located off State Route 420 in the town of Massena.
Responding State Police personnel secured the scene, which is being processed by the Troop B Forensic Identification Unit.
St. Lawrence County Coroner Jamie Sienkiewycz responded to the scene and removed the body for an autopsy to be conducted at a later date.
Investigators are attempting to ascertain the identity of the body and searching missing person databases. The investigation is continuing and additional information will be available upon completion of the autopsy.
Anyone who is aware of a missing person who has not been reported to law enforcement is asked to call the New York State Police at 518-897-2000
