A Heuvelton man is charged with three felonies for alleged unemployment fraud, troopers say.
On July 11, 2018, state police say they arrested 24-year-old Joshua T. Brown of Heuvelton, following an investigation by the New York State Department of Labor.
Troopers say that Brown, while he was employed by the United Helpers Nursing Home in Ogdensburg, received approximately $3,854 in unemployment insurance benefits to which he was not entitled to between Oct. 20, 2013, and April 27, 2014.
He was charged with third-degree grand larceny, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and first-degree falsifying business record, all felonies.
He was arraigned in Town of Oswegatchie Court and remanded to the Franklin County Jail, Malone, according to police. He was incarcerated there and returned following his arraignment, troopers said.
