MACOMB — A Heuvelton man was charged Monday with raping a child under the age of 15, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Anthony J. Butterfield, 21, was charged with second-degree rape, felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, officers said.
The arrest came following investigation of a complaint that Butterfield had sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 15, deputies said.
He was arraigned in Canton court and released under the supervision of probation, officers said.
An order of protection was reportedly issued in favor of the victim.
