Kylea McAdam, center, is the new Maple Princess, and Megan Parkman and Sarah Rastley are alternates.
The St. Lawrence County Maple Producers Association held their annual Maple Princess pageant Feb. 2, and crowned a Maple Princess and two alternates.
Kylea McAdam, the daughter of Brent and Kitty McAdam of Hermon, was crowned 2013 St. Lawrence County Maple Princess. Megan Parkman of Canton, the dauther of Eric & Julie Parkman, and Sarah Rastley of Gouverneur, the daughter of Patrick & Jennifer Rastley, were crowned St. Lawrence County Maple Princess Alternates.
McAdam spoke, and ended her speech saying, “Always remember that it doesn’t matter if you have a good season or a bad one. 100% real maple syrup is more than New York Pride, it’s Family Pride.”
Their first appearance will be at the “Ceremonial Tree Tapping” at Sweeter Creations in Madrid on March 9 at 11 a.m.
Those who would like the Maple Royalty to attend an event may contact one of the Coordinators, Brianne Tulley (528-2414) or Courtney Foote (528-2452).
