Hermon man jailed for criminal contempt, unlawful imprisonment following alleged domestic dispute

HERMON – A Hermon man was sent to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $5,000 bail Friday after he was charged with felony criminal contempt and unlawful imprisonment during an alleged domestic dispute.

Franklin H. Mackin III, 44, 476 County Rt. 25, Hermon, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, resisting arrest, two counts of second-degree harassment, and driving while intoxicated, deputies report.

According to deputies, Mackin was involved in a domestic dispute at 6:35 p.m. Friday in his home.

He was arraigned in Hermon Town Court, where his license was suspended and bail was set at $5,000.

Deputies report his bail was paid by another person and he was released to reappear in Hermon Town Court on Aug. 15.
