A heat advisory is in effect for St. Lawrence County again today with highs in the lower to mid 90s expected, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The advisory is in effect from noon to 8 p.m., NWS says.

Forecasters expect mostly sunny skies with highs around 93 and heat index values of 102.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight as a cold front moves into the region making temps dramatically different on Friday.

An overnight low of 68 is expected tonight with a high of 74 on Friday, the service says.

Expect sunny skies and temps in the high 70s and low 80s for the weekend, forecasters say.
