LISBON – Amid growing concern about unused drugs finding their way into water supplies, soil, and into the hands of people for whom they were not intended, the county Planning Office has a collection event Saturday, Aug. 7 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Ogdensburg Transfer Station, on Wagner Road in the Town of Lisbon.
This will be the second of the county’s Hazardous Household Wastes Collection Days where pharmaceuticals have been added to the list of things that will be accepted.
In addition to old drugs, these days include collection of some electronics, household solvents, household batteries, pesticides, and much more. These collections are intended for households, not for businesses or farms.
There are many types of items that will not be accepted at the collection event. A list of items they will take and those they will not can be found by visiting www.co.st-lawrence.ny.us/Departments/SolidWaste/HHW.
