CANTON — A Hammond woman was charged with a felony after being charged with driving impaired for the second time in a month after St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies discovered her asleep inside a running vehicle on Wednesday afternoon.

Nancy T. Meashaw, 65, was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and DWAI: drugs/alcohol combination at 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of State Highway 68 and County Route 14.

Deputies said they approached a 2008 Kia that was parked on the side of the road and observed the driver asleep at the wheel with the engine running.

Deputies determined that Meashaw was under the influence of alcohol and prescription controlled substances.

She had been charged with a felony count of unlicensed operation due to a driving while intoxicated charge on Sept. 3.

Meashaw was released to a third party on appearance tickets returnable to Canton court on Oct. 14.
