MORRISTOWN -- A Hammond man has been charged with first degree sexual abuse for sexual contact with a person under the age of 13.
Gerard P. Scime, 57, was charged Tuesday following an investigation, according to St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies.
The abuse began in 2004 and continued until 2010, when the alleged victim turned 12 years old, deputies said.
Sheriff’s deputies are continuing to investigate Scime in an attempt to find any other victims whose abuse may have gone unreported.
Scime ran a campground in Morristown, so he may also have victims outside of the St. Lawrence County area, deputies reported.
Scime has been remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $20,000 cash bail or a $40,000 bond, deputies said.
