GOUVERNEUR – Three Gouverneur residents have been charged with possessing opiates, according to state police.
The New York State Police Narcotics Unit charged Michael S. Young, 23, and Betty J. Ingram, 36, on warrants Oct. 8
Young was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (B felony), two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (B Felony), one count of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (C Felony), and one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (D Felony).
Young's charges stem from selling Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and Crack-cocaine.
Ingram was charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (C Felony) and two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. (D Felony). Ingram's charges stem from selling Suboxone and Hydrocodone.
On October 9, state police charged Cody J. Walrath, 21, of Gouverneur on an arrest warrant.
Walrath was charged with one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (B felony), one count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (B Felony), one count of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (C Felony), and one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (D Felony). Walrath's charges stem from selling Oxycodone and Hydrocodone.
The three individuals were remanded to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, as St. Lawrence County Court was not in session at the time of arrest. They are to be arraigned at a later date in County Court.
The New York State Police Narcotics Enforcement Unit were assisted in these investigations and arrests by members of the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, the St. Lawrence County District Attorney's Office, and the Gouverneur Village Police Department.
